以前周末一到，我们都会到小印度探望外婆。

外婆住在小印度里的五脚基，舅舅、舅妈和五个表姐弟也住那里。

小印度冒险记

因为是战前的房子，整个感觉相当破旧。每当要上那“开天窗”又暗又湿的厕所时，都会不知觉地捂住鼻子，掂起脚尖，小心翼翼地踩着地板，深怕自己踩到常躲在角落的青蛙、老鼠和壁虎……

当时确实有种探险的心情！“冒险”一完毕，我又赶紧回到表姐弟的团队里，继续玩乐！

记得有一次，为了效仿印度人在额头上的印记（想必那样一定很有趣），我们悄悄跑近旁边的印度庙里，偷偷在自己的额头点上他们常用的粉，刚点完就被印度庙里的人给发现了！

我们拼命的往出口逃，一边感觉很惊险，一边觉得又刺激又骄傲，但这也只是我们自觉勇敢而已，回家后还是被骂个“片甲不留”。

虽然常和哥哥弟弟吵架、打闹或做一些愚蠢的事而被骂，但我们兄妹的感情仍如胶似漆。

即使争执再戏剧化，也从来没有隔夜仇，顶多大哭一番，哭累了就睡，明天又是美好的一天。

被同学叫‘包公’9岁那年，我们全家从政府组屋搬迁到私人公寓，新环境新朋友让我们三兄妹每天都很兴奋。

尤其一到暑假，每天都向往到楼下的泳池游泳。我们对泳池的热爱非常夸张，有如服药一样，一天得游三次，才能过足消耗能量的瘾！

暑假过去时，皮肤晒得又黑又亮，头发意外地被理发师剪短，像个小伙子。

回到学校就被同学取了“包公”这个外号。当时还觉得挺威风。

中学时周末都开唱

每次往返补习的车途中，我和哥哥最喜欢坐在后车位高歌一曲。

车里播的儿童卡带已经重复过无数遍，我们滚瓜烂熟地大声唱儿歌，妈妈也从不觉得我们吵。

我和哥哥对音乐和歌唱的喜爱，或许就是从那时开始的。

升上中学后，刚好碰上卡拉ok风潮。当时很多人家里都有一台卡拉ok伴唱机。

我们三兄妹疯狂的程度有如龙卷风来袭，每个周末都开唱，好像自己开演唱会，麦克风一到手就摇身一变，变成“天王”“天后”，歌唱从此展开了神奇的旅途……

旁听妈妈教补习，观察哥哥姐姐们上课时的一举一动。他们在默写、背书、写字时的表情简直是正经八百，感觉相当投入。

本地歌手蔡淳佳去年12月中与爱情长跑10年的圈外男友“陈先生”悄悄结婚，上个月，夫妻俩趁空档到浪漫的希腊和威尼斯度蜜月，吃好、住好，两周的欧洲之旅，砸了1万多元。他们在希腊的圣托里尼岛（Santorini）下榻的小酒店面对无敌海景，景色美、气氛佳，两人是否把握机会，积极“造人”？蔡淳佳腼腆说：“哎哟，没有啦！刚好生理期。”

蔡淳佳说，08年和陈先生一起游巴黎、巴塞罗那，当时两人还是情侣，如今婚后再自助游欧洲，他俩选择到希腊和威尼斯度蜜月。上回发给媒体的婚照中，陈先生坚持不曝光，这次蜜月旅行照也不见陈先生踪影，“我们有合照，但他还是很害羞，不想上报。”

两人住宿方面砸钱，在圣托里尼岛下榻的是靠海的小酒店，问她是否有趁机“造人”，她笑说：“每天都非常累，走很多路……没有啦，我身体刚好生理期！”她小时体弱，想把身子调养好，才想生孩子，“看很多结婚的朋友计划生小孩，但等不到，反而没计划的就有了。”

她还说，陈先生未准备好当爸爸，“老公比较not ready，我们曾坐下来谈生孩子的事，但目前我们都有工作上的计划，一切顺其自然。”

砸1800元买名牌包

为了打造浪漫难忘的密月，两人在机票、住宿和吃方面，砸了1万元，不包括血拼等花费。欧洲是血拼的好地方，蔡淳佳自豪笑称自己“勤俭持家，不败家”，“陈先生本来有说要买个Chanel包包给我，但我不要。”

只是到了威尼斯，她最终招架不住，以1800元买了个“心头好”，“但我长这么大，这个Prada包是我第一个名牌包咧！”

遇黑人搭讪讨钱蔡淳佳‘凶’回去

欧洲黑手党、扒手多，蔡淳佳途中遇一名魁梧黑人搭讪，还趁陈先生不注意时，抓住她的手，跟她要钱。蔡淳佳说，与其说害怕，她当下更生气，“那个男的穿得很得体，有手有脚，看起来才廿来岁，干嘛要讨钱？其实我也可以很凶，哈哈。”游山玩水回国后，蔡淳佳接下来将开始为新专辑写歌。

本地歌手蔡淳佳与圈外男友爱情长跑10年，终于在去年12月中完成了终生大事。婚礼非常低调，完全没有发消息给媒体。《我报》记者是昨天早上在蔡淳佳的博客看到这则喜讯。

蔡淳佳前天晚上8点多，在博客以华语及英语发表了一则非常感人的文章“My Biggest Confession 有史最大的告白”，也贴了一张婚纱照。

她在文中感谢老公陈先生过去的10年总把她放在第一位，让她拥有无微不至的爱与关怀，也感谢媒体、粉丝、朋友与家人给予他们私人空间。

记者昨早致电蔡淳佳所属的华纳唱片询问，唱片公司直到昨天下午2时多，才发新闻稿给媒体，公布这则消息。

新闻稿件中提到，蔡淳佳的歌唱事业历经低潮时，陈先生始终陪伴在旁支持她，不管她何时、在何地工作，他都默默等待她，当她最好的后盾。

陈先生求婚好几次，前年还端出1克拉钻戒想“套”住蔡淳佳，她当时感动地说：“不用钻戒，你早就套住我啦！”

由于蔡淳佳当时忙着录制专辑，直到去年发行《回到最初》后，才开始筹备婚礼。

低调处理与陈先生的感情

蔡淳佳出道时就大方承认有男朋友，但因为对方是圈外人，为了保护他，她从未公开对方的身份。

她曾在访问中说：“我不会公开他是谁、做哪一行，我觉得这对他不公平。”

据唱片公司的消息，陈先生是任职国际企业的高层专业人士，并和蔡淳佳一样都学过验光，蔡淳佳还开玩笑说，“代表彼此应该没有看走眼”。

新郎非常不愿意曝光，但最终还是让唱片公司公开一张只有他侧脸的婚纱照（上图）。

婚礼谢绝商家赞助

蔡淳佳处理感情的低调作风，让人想起钟琴。去年10月她接受本地媒体访问时，被问到理想中的婚礼，也说倾向学钟琴谢绝所有商家赞助，“因为我要顾及另一半的感受”。

蔡淳佳当时也在访问中透露了男友的体贴。“这么多年来，他在很多方面让我很感动。我出国工作时他会不时传简讯，我们也常通电话。10年来，他一直都会问‘回家了没有’。我觉得如果对方用心，你肯定能感受到。他是很真心的一个人。”

Singer doesn't want music to be just a job

NINE years after entering showbiz, local singer Joi Chua wants to remind herself of her first love - music.

Which is why the 31-year-old's latest album is titled Back To Basics.

It was released earlier this month.

Joi told The New Paper: 'I hope to relive the motivation that I had right at the beginning.

'After working for a few years, you may achieve your career targets, and start to earn money, but you may not be as happy as before. Sometimes, we get lost in life and wonder what we are doing now.'

Joi said her career has had its ups and downs.

After graduating from Singapore Polytechnic's optometry course in 1998, she worked as an optician for about a year, before releasing her self-titled debut album in 2000, which sold more than 50,000 copies in Taiwan alone.

But her singing career took a dip after that.

Long break

She had a four-year hiatus and went back to being an optician for three of those years.

It was only in 2004 that she made a comeback with her second album, Sunrise, under Play Music.

The following year, her third album I Will, One Day moved 25,000 copies, according to Play Music.

Last year, she was nominated for the first time as Best Mandarin Female Singer at Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards.

She also performed the National Day song Shine For Singapore with Singapore Idol Season 2 champ Hady Mirza.

Yet she said she has been taking life easy for two years. 'To be honest, I haven't been doing much.'

She spent most of her days resting, cooking, taking photographs and writing songs, of which five are used in her latest album.

She said she didn't want to get so busy till her passion in singing, which started in school, becomes just a job. She also hopes to have a say in how her new album is promoted.

For example, she rejects the typical route of appearing on variety shows normally taken by local artistes who try to break into Taiwan.

Such appearances have their pitfalls. Local singer Kelly Poon was slammed for not being able to come up with a Chinese idiom to describe a performance on TV show Variety Big Brother.

Joi made guest appearances on the show in 2007 and on Jacky Wu's Guess, Guess, Guess last year.

She didn't have any unpleasant experiences, but felt such appearances don't enrich her.

'There are others who can really cast off restraints and not be worried about their image, but that's tough for me. I'm not a comedienne, so I find it hard to be wild and play with them. What's the point of going on air if the effect isn't great?'

But she's quick to add that it's a case of different strokes for different folks.

'Different types of artistes are suited for different kinds of shows.

'If you are more cutesy and can dance, or you have an idol image, appearing on these variety programmes may actually work for you.'

As for her love life, she remained coy about the man she has dated for 10 years.

When asked if they had plans to tie the knot soon, she said no.

She also said that although he's not in showbiz, he is very understanding about her erratic schedule as an artiste.

'If he can't be, we would have broken up long ago,' she said.

回到最初，会是什么？那你还记得最初的蔡淳佳吗？拥有一把好声音的她，却因为这一把声音而常常被冠上“平淡”和“重复性”等评语。

然而，与其硬把帽子套在她的头上，不如让她的声音净化市场上的污浊。

专辑同名歌曲以清新的曲风贯穿，反倒轻松。林俊杰作曲李志清作词，吉他简单的和弦和曲风虽然不见得新颖（还有点孙燕姿早期歌曲的影子），可是记点强，加上蔡淳佳有说服力的诠释，让她又多了另一种声音角色。

《隐形纪念》是中孝介歌曲的华语版。词曲虽然简单，但日本演歌的演唱原本就很难，所以除非基本功打足，否则肯定唱不到半首就喘气。听过淳佳稳健的现场演唱，所以自私地给这首歌大大加分。

《表面完美的爱》是专辑中让我深深感动的一首歌，姚若龙的词配上柯贵民的曲，都是突破。

首先，词的画面感极强，尤其对于那些曾经被背叛的听众，前面的八句应该就能够让你落泪。但是，副歌部分歌词反而变得有点普通大爱，如果能够再专注一些会更好。

曲的部分则倒反，前段属于简单直接，副歌反而增加了很多惊喜，所以互补之下可听度甚高。

这次在专辑中加入自己的创作，而且一次就加入5首，可见公司对淳佳的歌路开始做改变。

《檐前雨》的词曲搭配有默契，那种雨后的清新却带有些许遗憾的开始，然后雨过天晴后的笑容和勇敢，但如果编曲能在弦乐上更细心，想必会更好。

睽違近兩年的蔡淳佳，在宣传新专辑期间接受新动网专访时说：“机会来的话，会去接受拍戏的挑战。”

她希望演比较豪气的角色，“不一定那么轻轻柔柔的，没那么好玩。”

有拍戏的机会吗？她有点懊恼地说：“我也很想，但是没有人来找我！”

蔡淳佳的新专辑《回到最初》中，除了尝试创作5首歌曲外，还有机会与凭《海角七号》夺得金马奖最佳男配角的马如龙合作拍MV，偷了不少师！为主打歌《隐形纪念》拍MV时有机会与饰演爸爸的马如龙对戏，蔡淳佳甚至因太投入看他演戏，而忘了自己的部分。

“他的演技非常棒，我很投入在看，也忘记我也要演，我就变成观众...对，我应该做表情的，那我忘记了！”

《隐形纪念》是电影《海角七号》主题曲《各自远扬》的翻唱歌曲，是蔡淳佳新专辑的主打歌。对翻唱歌曲她有何看法？她说：“不去想太多，每个歌手有自己的风格，自己的见解，尽我能力做好它。”

自我要求高的蔡淳佳说，“这首歌听起来很顺，但一首很柔很顺的歌，需要很多的control，唱时却不容易。控制要很好，呼吸点很少，所以在录的时候有它困难的地方，但是通过制作的帮助和指点，录得还蛮顺利的。”

恋爱10年未想嫁在等一股冲动！
拍拖10年，蔡淳佳还未想当新娘。她说：“时机要看好，时机对就会去做。(什么时候才是时机?)不懂！结婚是一种冲动，我觉得需要那股冲动，时机到了就会做。（生孩子会是原因吗?）会吧！几年的计划？我不知道，我觉得不用设底线，感觉对了，就会去结婚。”

会去拉斯维加斯注册结婚吗？她连口说‘不’：“感觉怪怪的，就是谁去哪里都可以结婚的感觉。”

开设博客、设立网站、成立Facebook户口并定时Twitter，蔡淳佳利用新科技与歌迷保持联系，却遇到捣乱的网民，还被骂三字经！

蔡淳佳上周五为宣传新专辑《回到最初》受访时说：“利用新媒体平台能让各地歌迷更了解我。但我比较低调，太隐私的东西我不会放上网。Twitter方面，我会谈工作和日常生活，有时也会上载照片。”

但一些海外艺人把生活中所有细节都tweet出来，对此蔡淳佳笑说：“我觉得那种比较恐怖！因为是social media，所以放上去的东西已经不是你的了。”

谈到Facebook，淳佳说：“有些歌迷私底下会message我，也曾有人公开说出自己的感受。但那个网民的留言让我感觉上不是真正的歌迷写的。而我删除这个人以后，就收到言语很直接的留言，还用了三字经。可是，过后这个人又跟我说‘不好意思’。”

回顾这段经历，淳佳说：“那个人的谈话比较极端，不像是歌迷。或许有些人认为在网上就不需要负责任，如果真是如此，我也觉得没有必要回应或受影响。”

男友曾现身签唱会

在网络世界低调，蔡淳佳在现实生活中也是如此，还笑说：“这么多年来都没有高调过！”而蔡淳佳与男友交往10年，却从未公开对方身份。对此，她笑说：“他也很低调，有时我会叫他去签唱会帮我拍照，都没有人认出。”

在《回到最初》中唱到“没有钻石的爱情，我也会被感动”，被问起现实生活中是否也有同样观点，蔡淳佳说：“就看他啦，如果有的话我不介意，哈哈！”

“但钻石是其次，因为这么多年来，他在很多方面让我很感动。我出国工作时他都会传简讯，我们也常通电话。而10年来，他一直都会问‘回家了没有’。我觉得如果对方用心，肯定能感受到。他是很真心的一个人。”

至于有没有结婚的打算，蔡淳佳说：“可能要再看情况，时机到了自然就会结婚。”什么时候才是对的时机？蔡淳佳“打太极”笑说：“宣传完再看吧，现在很忙！”

　　前天，本地歌手蔡淳佳为宣传新专辑《回到最初》接受访问。

男友低调，婚礼将谢拒赞助

　　蔡淳佳已有个交往八年的亲密男友，被问到理想中的婚礼时，她说自己结婚倾向学钟琴谢拒所有商家赞助的作风：“因为我要顾及另一半的感受，因为对方不是圈内人，而且非常低调，连我的演出也没来看。”

　　在新歌《隐形纪念》的MV，蔡淳佳饰演高中生穿校服，她笑说：“裙子短到感觉有点‘A’，工作人员说我很可爱，但我担心自己在装年轻。”

　　拍新歌《回家的路》MV，最后一幕是蔡淳佳穿上新娘服，在台湾花莲一所教堂里结婚的桥段。因为和“新郎”是初次见面，又是蔡淳佳第一次“结婚”，所以光是走红地毯，就NG了数十次。

　　她说：“婚纱超紧，穿后无法好好呼吸。我开始可以体会，当新娘要穿紧身婚纱，还要脸带笑容招待亲友一整天，真的很不容易。”

马如龙教她靠眼睛演戏

　　新专辑的首波主打歌《隐形纪念》翻唱中孝介在电影《海角七号》演唱的主题曲《各自远飏》，还找来马如龙合作拍歌曲MV。马如龙出道40多年来，首度担纲演出MV男主角，和蔡淳佳演父女。

　　蔡淳佳称赞马如龙说：“他很资深，我跟他学了很多，比如他教我，演戏的动作不必太多，眼神最重要，要靠眼睛演戏。”

　　其实，蔡淳佳一直期待有演戏的机会。虽然有过戏剧的邀约，都被唱片公司推掉，因为不是撞上专辑发片期，就是角色不适合。

　　她说：“像太文静的角色就不会接演，因为公司知道我不是那么文静的女生，觉得不适合我。我最想演韩国偶像剧《咖啡王子一号店》尹恩惠的那种‘男人婆’角色。”

　　蔡淳佳坦承自己不但不文静，还有“火爆”的时候，“我开车碰到不讲理的司机，会破口大骂。有时看到哥哥喝酒喝多了，出于关心，会唠叨他，唠叨一多，两人就吵起来。”

　　从劝酒聊到曹格因醉酒打架事件，蔡淳佳认为，每个人都需要第二次机会，但如果不珍惜，就太对不起自己。她也说：“不只艺人，任何人喝醉酒都会丑态百出。喝过头的话，不单是不爱惜自己，也不尊重别人。”　

新专辑，交出5首创作曲

　　在新专辑，蔡淳佳交出5首创作，其中一首《找回自己》就扣住专辑主题“回到最初”。

　　她说：“学生时代对唱歌的热忱最珍贵，我想回到那时候的心情。虽然专辑的风格一直在变，不变的是，我要快乐唱歌。

　　“相信很多歌手都有同样的经验，开始时对音乐有很多憧憬，但通常理想中的音乐不卖，如果不愿听取唱片公司的意见，可能就没有下一张专辑。过往的专辑，我唱了很多商业歌曲，我不觉得不好，只是现在想通过自己的创作，让大家更加了解我。”

　　本地歌手蔡淳佳最近推出新专辑《回到最初》，沉寂1年又9月，如今她蓄势待发。她说，不少艺人在五光十色的娱乐圈久了，会迷失方向，她也不例外，于是就放慢脚步，用近两年让心情沉淀下来、重新思考人生。问她领悟到什么，她笑回：“开心最重要。”

　　她首次尝试写歌，前后交出十多首作品，公司最终采用她5首歌，让她觉得很难得，“我写歌随心所欲，比较直接，没什么构思或概念。”此外，她哥哥蔡立章自《突发奇想》后，也在新专辑中交出新作品《找回自己》，蔡淳佳说：“《找回》是我在专辑中最喜欢的一首作品，歌曲节奏较轻快，而且是跟哥哥一起写的！”

　　她感叹，向哥哥邀歌曲不容易，“哥哥是工程师，他也有自己的家庭，所以跟他要歌很难。”蔡淳佳除了向哥哥邀歌外，之前要向林俊杰邀作品，最后成功要来一首《回到最初》，她笑说：“跟哥哥邀歌比跟林俊杰邀歌还难！”

　　她在新歌中唱“没有钻石的爱情／我也会被感动”，目前有交往10年的圈外男友的蔡淳佳却笑说：“其实如果有钻石也不错啦，哈哈！我们相处那么多年了，他总是能让我感到，像我出国工作，他会发简讯叫我照顾自己；他的用心，我感受得到。”

We decided to reflect on this wonderful and interesting topic which Joi brought up...

Everything in the statement make sense. Producing a song can take up to a year, let alone the time and effort spent to produce an album (Maybe they occur concurrently). Given that the amount we pay to purchase a CD might not even be sufficient to cover its production cost, an album with more than 10 TRACKS would definitely make the money you spent worthwhile.

Joi performed at the Mercy Relief Charity Event last Saturday, 19th September 2009. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Typhoon Morakot victims. Apart from contributing her efforts, she also made a personal donation of $4000.
淳佳上周六替慈援组织在白沙浮广场表演。这次的活动是为了替莫拉克台风的灾民筹款。淳佳出力又出钱，她也以个人名义捐赠了四千元。

She sang 4 songs, namely Yi Lian, Yin Xing Ji Nian, Qing Xing You Ni Ai Wo and Ri Chu.
淳佳演唱了四首歌曲：　依恋，隐形纪念，庆幸有你爱我 and 日出.

Our fan club has also showed our support for the victims by volunteering our time to help out in the event. We sold Joi's and Weilian's CDs at a cost of $15 where $5 within will be donated to Mercy Relief.
我们的歌友会也替灾民出一分力。有几位淳迷也义务的帮助慈援组织，以卖淳佳和陈伟联的专辑的方式筹款。专辑每张十五元，其中五元将会捐赠来帮助灾民。

Last but not least, we were there to support our dearest Joi. To Joi with love, the big boards that we made.
我们的歌友会也到场支持淳佳！希望她有看到我们为她做的大版版！
